FREMONT, CA, July, 2007 - Once again DCL is leading Silicon Valley in environmental conservation by installing a 2nd addition of solar panels. REgrid has returned to supply DCL with another solar panel system that will offset over 36% of the company’s annual electricity usage. The installation of the 75 kilowatt solar power electric system begins July 20th on DCL’s headquarters building on Milmont Drive in Fremont. This individual system will generate 111,719 kilowatt hours of electricity per year, yielding the same environmental benefit as planting 61.4 acres of trees. . Together, both devices will conserve a whopping 250,000 kilowatts of electricity per year and cut the energy bill by over 75%.
Combined with the previous system installed last April, the solar technology will dramatically reduce energy operating costs within the company and help significantly diminish the emission of green house gasses into earth’s atmosphere. DCL’s green initiative is an example to help promote other industrial manufacturing industries to recognize the benefits of environmental stewardship and hopefully join DCL in becoming a “Green Business.”
