FREMONT, CA. - DCL is known as a leading fulfillment and supply chain company in the Bay Area, but companies should also be aware that we are certified as a minority-owned business by the Northern California Supplier Diversity Council (NCSDC).
Driven by the government’s push to promote equality and increase competition, there are tangible monetary benefits for doing business with minority-owned suppliers. By increasing minority-owned supplier spend, companies can receive tax incentives and improve their chances of winning government contracts if they meet government mandates of spending a percentage of dollars with minority-owned businesses.
The story of DCL is not unlike many other stories of successful entrepreneurial immigrants. Brothers, Norman and David Tu, immigrated to the United States from China after the government changeover in 1949. Both attended university and after working in different careers, decided to venture out on their own. In 1982, DisCopyLabs was born and the two brothers have not looked back since.
Whereas many competitors have changed their ownership structure or strategic focus during the same time span, DCL has had the same ownership structure for the past 27 years with Norman and David continuing to remain active in the daily operations. Our stability has allowed us to focus on what we do best: provide quality fulfillment and supply chain services for our customers. Reflecting excellence in our field, DCL was honored by the NCSDC in March 2008 as the minority-owned “Class IV Supplier of the Year” (Class IV is defined as a company with annual revenue greater than $50 million). DCL does not emphasize that we are a minority supplier, however, companies should know that they may qualify for this governmental benefit.
