DCL Becomes the First to Operate a Solar Power Energy System in Fremont
December 2006
Dear Friends and Customers,
On behalf
of DCL and our employees, I want to wish you all a very happy and safe holiday
season.
2006 was a good year for DCL. We are entering our 25th year in
business and we are continuing to move aggressively to expand capability and capacity
in the fulfillment and logistics side of the business. We are seriously looking
at East Coast as our next expansion.
DCL successfully launched the company's
newly developed "On Demand" (minimum or zero inventory) manufacturing
program. The program, the culmination of a joint effort by Management, Operations,
Planning, Business Development and the IT team, resulted in the award of a multi
million dollar software manufacturing and distribution deal for DCL. Presently
we are processing in excess of 250 orders daily in this new model.
In
March, DCL completed a SAS 70 audit conducted by an independent service auditor.
The SAS 70 audit provides our customers and their auditors with independent third
party verification regarding the state of our internal controls to be taken into
consideration when making assessments of control risks. The SAS 70 compliance
aligns DCL with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
Recently,
Dave Tu, my son, joined the DCL management team as the Director of Business Development.
Dave will spearhead new business development activities for the company. His focus
will be on developing new strategies that will enable DCL to add value to industry-leading
supply chain solutions in the form of strategic partnerships, acquisitions and
strategic positioning. Dave brings eight years of corporate experience with Boeing
and JP Morgan. He recently graduated with an MBA from the London School of Business.
As we close the year, I want to thank you on behalf of the entire company
for your friendship, business and goodwill. We appreciate your support and look
forward to exceeding your expectations for service and quality in the coming year.
Happy Holidays,
Norman Tu,
Chairman & CEO
