California is the largest freight transportation network in the United States, with approximately two trillion dollars worth of freight shipments to, from and within California annually. These numbers are expected to rise to over four trillion dollars by 2020. With the increase of goods originating and destined for California growing, companies need to plan their logistics now as well as identify companies they can trust to ease the fulfillment process.
DCL has over twenty-five years of global logistics experience managing the flow of goods, services and information from points of origin to their desired locations.
DCL has logistics and freight management centers throughout California: two Fremont locations, situated close to the Port of Oakland to expedite access from Northern California; as well as an Ontario facility to meet the needs of Southern California customers, including logistics services that originate or are destined for the Ports of Los Angeles or Long Beach.
A benefit of incorporating DCL’s freight management and logistics services is our continued relationship with major freight carriers, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL, as well as the United Postal Service (USPS) and Less-than-Truckload (LTL) carriers. Because DCL pools the aggregate volume of our customers’ shipments on one freight account, DCL receives preferred rates from these carriers, enabling us to pass on these substantial cost savings.
In addition, customers must consider the payment flexibility received by using our freight account. Customers are billed monthly by DCL as opposed to the carriers who bill weekly, alleviating the financial and administrative burden of weekly payment.
DCL employs a highly experienced Distribution Service Analyst Team whose sole focus is to ensure the integrity of all fulfillment orders, including compliance with all routing guides and carrier requirements as well as carrier management through daily and direct communication.
Although DCL manages the freight and logistics, all shipping information is transparent and visible to our customers through the eSales module of our eFactory application. You can find a range of reports from basic information on daily order shipments to a drill down of a specific package weight and contents within a specific order. Freight reports detailing freight charges by order as well as carrier service will help you reconcile and validate your freight savings. Packing slips and direct carrier tracking for every order are available as well.
