dcl history

DCL, formerly known as DisCopyLabs, was founded by Norman, Antonia and David Tu in 1982 in Menlo Park, California to provide duplication services for the emerging software industry. Since that time, the founders have demonstrated the ability to develop new products and services as well as to adapt to changing market conditions. The evolution of the Company is demonstrated by the following key milestones in DCL's product development and business expansion:

1982:

DisCopyLabs created, provides mass-market duplication of diskette software.

1989:

DisCopyLabs initiates assembly and packaging services, offers complete manufacturing expertise.

 

1990:

DisCopyLabs opens a state-of-the-art facility in Fremont, California.

1991:

On-Line Copy Corporation formed for short run, fast turn media duplication and software production services.

 

1992:

DisCopyLabs grows again - adds new facility in Southern California.

1994:

ISO 9002 Certification received.

 

1995:

Purchased Encryption Technology, Inc and added CD-ROM/CDR manufacturing services.

1996:

DisCopyLabs expands focus, becomes DCL - offers complete start-to-finish turnkey manufacturing for both software and non-software products.

 

1997:

eCommerce introduced using eFactory, the Internet Customer Support System.

1998:

Acquired Memory Chips, Inc., and merged it into On-Line Copy.
Opened second facility in Fremont, doubling capacity in Silicon Valley.

 

1999:

Installed J.D. Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning system.

2000:

DCL expands services to include RMA and warranty services.

 

2002:

DCL extends fulfillment services to the healthcare industry.

2003:

ISO 9000:2001 certification received.

2004:

Adds an additional 75,000 square foot facility in Southern California.
Provides SD, MMC and USB duplication services.

2005:

Implements EDI capability for retail channels.

2006

SAS compliance met.

2007:

DCL goes “green” – installs solar panel system at Fremont facility.
DCL expands to offer eCommerce solutions

2008:

DCL expands internationally to offer global fulfillment services.
