DCL Releases eFactory Version 6
FREMONT, CA. - DCL, www.dclcorp.com,
an ISO 9001:2000 certified provider of packaging and distribution services, announced
the release of eFactory Version 6, its web-based, real-time information system
for customers. Highlighting Version 6 is a comprehensive document management
center, Doc Center, based on the Microsoft Sharepoint Server. Doc Center allows
customers to post Illustrator Adobe and other files into their own document library
and track the proof-approval and production process. Doc Center virus-checks all
uploaded files, provides for version control and collaboration between the customer
and DCL. In addition, DCL suppliers have access to the same files through their
portal and can post proofs and production status.
"The new Doc Center is an important tool that will reduce production
cycle times on printed components," said Norman Tu, CEO of DCL. "Now
customers have a secure, electronic system to manage and control art and print
files throughout the complete process of submission, proof approvals and print
production. They will be able to see exactly where their documents are and the
status at any point in time." Version 6 Doc Center: Reduces turnaround
time for production - Eliminates the need to physically transport masters
or art files
- Provides an archival and categorized master/art file for
future use
- Provides a common internet platform to communicate with vendors
and customers
Other new features in Version 6 include: -
Shipment and backlog reporting by both revenue and units
- Database optimization
for quicker query response
- Hardware upgrade to Blade-servers and Storage
Area Network (SAN) technology for improved performance
- Customer client
access to orders by PO #, date or product
